S.O.(E) In exercise of powers conferred by section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with paragraph 1.3 and 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 1997-2002(incorporating amendments made upto 31st August, 1998) and as amended from time to time:-

In Appendix 3 to Schedule 2 (substituted by Notification No.5 (RE-2000)/1997-2000 dated the 31ST March, 2000 and further amended vide Notification No. 14( RE-2000)/1997-2002 dated 8th May, 2000) the figure and words 6500(six thousand five hundred) Mtops as appearing in item No. 7C001 (i) and (ii) and in Explanatory notes (b) thereunder, shall be amended to read as 28000 (twenty eight thousand) Mtops.
