Notification No. 21 (Re-2000) 1997-2002
------------------------------------------------------------
New Delhi: 26 Th June, 2000

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with paragraph 1.3 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002 (incorporating amendment made up to 31.3.2000), the Central Government hereby makes following amendments in the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002 (incorporating amendments made up to 31.3.2000).

The following amendments shall be made in the entry at ITC(HS) Code No.0703(2) in ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Imports items, 1997-2002, (incorporating amendments made up to 31st August, 1998) at Schedule 2, Table - B in continuation to the Notification No.11(RE-2000) 1997-2002 dt.26th April, 2000.

0703 (2) Bangalore Rose onions - Canalised - Subject to the following and Krishnapuram conditions:
Onions
  • KAPPEC, Bangalore, is appointed as the canalising agency for export of Bangalore Rose onions
  • AP MARKFED, Hyderabad, is appointed as the canalising agency for export of Krishnapuram onions .
  • KAPPEC AND AP MARKFED are to follow the same procedures as evolved by NAFED for regular onions, in respect of the respective varieties of onions assigned to them.
  • KAPPEC and AP MARKFED would issue NOCs for export of Bangalore rose and Krishnapuram onions respectively against L/c. While KAPPEC would certify at the time of stuffing and sealing the consignments of Bangalore Rose onions, AP MARKFED would certify the same in the case of Krishnapuram onions.
  • In stead of getting service charges @ 3.5% on the export of Bangalore Rose and Krishnapuram onions, the KAPPEC and AP MARKFED would charge from exporters of these varieties Rs./20 per MT to enable them to meet their administrative expenses.
  • Both KAPPEC and AP MARKFED may charge Rs.20 per MT from the exporters for a specific project to meet an infrastructural requirement for the export of Bangalore Rose onions and Krishnapuram onions primarily. These agencies would, however, not collect this amount until the project is prepared by them and approval by EP(Agriculture) Division of Department of
    Commerce.
This issues in public interest.
